Physical Therapy

Our staff is highly trained in Manual Physical Therapy and Stabiity and Motor Control Training. It is imperative that Physical Therapists can determine  when a manual intervention is required or when the brain is not giving the body the proper movement strategy information. All of our Therapist are highly trained in differential diagnosis and creating the most effective treatment intervention.

Our PTA staff have been through a comprehensive Pilates Teacher Training Program and have been educated on the Quality Movement Screen to enable ongoing screening for best strategy of intervention to assist the PT staff in treating their patients.

Healthy U Professional Staff utilizes a combination of Traditional PT Interventions, Pilates  and Yoga for Rehabilitation, Pain Neuroscience Education, Advanced Manual Therapy and Motor Control Training and Aquatic Therapy

AQUATIC THERAPY

What is Aquatic Therapy?

Aquatic therapy is a specialized form of Physical Therapy. An alternative therapy for those who do not tolerate land based forces. Aquatic Therapy can improve function through rehabilitation without the effects of gravity. This is good for those with partial weight bearing restrictions or tolerances. Patients with functional decline or compressive arthritic conditions may benefit from Aquatic based Therapy. With the use of a progressive current, resistive strength and functional training can be implemented.

• Water improves motion and flexibility
• An adjustible current  provides resistance for strength and balance training
• The warmth of the water (95°F) and its massaging effects allow muscles to relax while helping to reduce pain
• The natural buoyancy reduces gravitational pull and lessens compressive forces, hence making exercises much easier to perform than on land 

Pelvic Health Physical Therapy

Pelvic Health Physical Therapy is for anyone experiencing urinary or fecal incontinence, organ prolapse, s/p Prostatectomy, Pelvic Pain and many more symptoms and diagnosis. Physical Therapists are specialists in Muscular Dysfunctions throughout the entire body, including the Pelvic Floor. The Muscular System and the Visceral System (Organs) have a phenomenon known as cross talk, therefore diagnosis such as Interstitial Cystitis and Endomytriosis often benefit significantly from Physical Therapy.
